Our client is an important multinational entrepreneurial company, European leader in the design and production of electromechanical and electronic standard products and systems for the civil and residential applications. To strengthen the Purchasing Department, we are looking for a:

COMMODITY MANAGER – Injection molding and die casting

Reporting to the Global Purchasing Director, the candidate has global scope of responsibility for his/her product categories, and he/she coordinates the purchasing strategy for manufacturing plants.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build strong relationships with suppliers, following the negotiation of prices, terms and conditions.
• Apply the purchasing guidelines provided at Group level, developing a portfolio of new suppliers, consolidating existing ones, defining a common purchasing strategy.
• Ensure the achievement of cost saving and improvement objectives in his/her area of responsibility.
• Track the main KPIs on the basis of predefined indicators.
• Define the budget for raw materials and semi-finished products.
• Cooperate with the R&D Department and Product Engineering to define new technologies and components to be sourced.
• Establish or implement policies and procedures to streamline processes and standards at Group level.
• Degree preferably in Engineering/Economics.
• Previous experience of at least 5/6 years in the Purchasing Department, in strategic management roles, within medium-large international industrial contexts.
• Good ability to analyse data and implement cost saving policies.
• Excellent negotiating skills with Italian and foreign suppliers.
• Fluency in English; other languages are a plus.
• Good technical knowledge of plastics and aluminium, with a particular focus on injection moulding and die-casting processes.
• Forward-looking and goal-oriented.
• Flexibility and adaptability to multicultural and dynamic contexts.
• Good management skills of the supplier base, including re-organization and rationalisation of the suppliers, used to KPI analysis and area reporting.
• Good knowledge of the main ERP software and Office package.
