Overview:
We are looking for a warm and personable Restaurant Host/Hostess Server to join our team. In this dual role, you will be the first point of contact for guests dining at our resort, welcoming them with grace and professionalism. You will also provide seamless service throughout their meal, ensuring a memorable dining experience that reflects the resort’s commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL HOST FUNCTIONS:
- Assisting the F&B leadership team on ensuring the overall dinning experience expectations of the guest are met.
- The Host is the guest main point of contact when they enter the dining room for dinner.
- Welcomes guest according to the resort standards and escorts them to their table.
- Ensures tables are properly set with correct amount of table settings before guest are escorted.
- Gives all reservations notes and guest preferences to the servers.
- Presents the menus and explains them to the guest
- Obtains water preference for each guest.
- Assist with all parameters that may affect the guest experience, such as room temperature, lighting, and overall appearance of the dining room.
- Receives and coordinates guest reservations through the Reserve Reservation Software.
- Maintains a pleasant and welcoming environment for the guest’s enjoyment at all times, ensuring the best dining experience.
- Checks on guest through out their dinner to ensure guest are satisfied.
- Thanking and greeting guest with genuine appreciation before they leave.
- Assessing guest complaints, inquires and recommendations. Notifying management on any guest complaints.
- Anticipating and addressing the guest needs.
- Ensuring all menus and clean in good condition and accurate.
- Speaking to guest and staff suing a clear professional and respectful language at all times.
- Ensuring the highest quality of standards are met for service. Checks for cleanliness & Organization on all dinning room/storage areas.
- Assist the F&B Leadership team on ensuring the Chef’s culinary vison and daily specials are properly shared with the guest.
ESSENTIAL SERVER FUNCTIONS:
- Satisfying guest needs and exceeding their expectations by projecting a positive hotel image through proper grooming, appropriate verbal communication, and taking responsibility of guest needs.
- Attending the daily line-up and knowing what the specials are and how many we have
- Answering guests requests immediately
- Be aware of all tables in the dining room, if you notice a table that has been unattended for awhile-ask if there is anything you can do for them
- Informing the kitchen of any special requests or needs (allergic to shellfish)
- Know how to answer the phone and properly take a Private Dining order (also need to ask for turn down service during the PM shifts)
- Communicate with other servers or back servers to see if they need any help
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Taking daily status report of all suites
- Supporting the team in a positive & helpful manner
- Reporting missing or damaged items and lost and found items
- Keeping high personal grooming standards and maintaining a neat uniform
- Wearing a nametag at all times
- Performing other duties as assigned by management
- Assisting in the setup and breakdown of special events and functions
- Becoming familiar and complying with all Amangani policies and procedures
- Be prepared to answer any questions about the hotel or the food
- Completing opening & closing responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Needs to be competent in the use of Micros & Excel
- Knowledge of dining room and kitchen procedures helpful
