Digital Society (DigiS) is a research center of Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) formed by a multidisciplinary team of more than 100 researchers, technologists, and managers (including Ph.D. and students). The position is opened by the Modeling and Simulation of Socio-Technical Systems (MoST) research unit of the Digital Society center. The unit aims to research new modeling and simulation techniques for complex socio-technical systems (e.g., cities, rural areas, complex organizations) by exploiting, developing and integrating data science, artificial intelligence and complex systems approaches.One of the key research areas of the MoST unit are Social Digital Twins, namely dynamic digital models of socio-technical systems, fed by data collected from the systems themselves, and capable of faithfully reproducing their behavior and of predicting their evolution, including the effects and impacts of external changes (eg, climate change) and internal processes (e.g., urban/rural transition policies and incentives).

Job Description
FBK is seeking a technologist to support the activities of the MoST unit in the area of Social Digital Twins. The candidate will be involved in the research activities, in research management, and in the technological development of models, analysis and simulation solutions for Social Digital Twins; these activities will be carried out in the scope of the research and innovation projects managed by the MoST unit.The candidates will work in collaboration with other researchers of the FBK, as well as with partners involved in the projects.
Job RequirementsThe ideal candidate should have:
Master in Computer Science, Information Engineering, or related fields; Solid track record in scientific leadership and project management; Previous experience in the areas of data analysis, modeling and/or simulation, in particular concerning user behaviors; Software development skills (preferably in Python); Good knowledge and proficiency of the Italian and English language; Team working attitude; Good communication and relation skills; Self-motivation and result orientation.
Furthermore, the following elements will be positively evaluated:
PhD in Computer Science, Information Engineering, or related fields; Knowledge of AI and data science frameworks and libraries; Track record in the management development of software systems, in particular in the scope of research or innovation projects.

Gross annual salary: about € 41.475,00
