Responsibilities:The Logistics Quality Engineer will be responsible for the development and the management of a performance reporting system (through the definition of KPIs) as well as the continuous performance improvement of the Logistics function that manages the worldwide outbound logistics on behalf of Haworth Lifestyle brands.
The typical activities of this function includes product handling, warehousing, shipping and final mile delivery including white glove services as well as tracking and monitoring the product flow along the entire logistic chain.
The primary focus and objective of the newly created role will be a data-driven performance monitoring and continuous improvement effort working closely with our internal Brand stakeholders and with our external service providers. The ultimate objective is to identify and capture quality, performance and/or cost optimizations along the logistic chain.
The role reports directly to the Global Head of Industrial Development of Haworth Lifestyle.
Main Activities:Definition, implementation and maintaining of a standardized logistics quality dashboard with key information about the group outbound logistics performance, ensuring that the dashboard is always accurate and up to date. Continuous lead-time tracking and reporting of container shipments versus our internally agreed targets.
Benchmarking, best practice sharing and continuous improvement of the group’s white glove delivery services worldwide. Implement a structured and comprehensive customer claim management about our logistics services utilizing the CRM tool of Microsoft Dynamics.
Conduct regular site visits and internal audits of our main logistics hubs ensuring consistent quality standards and continuous improvement. Support the decision-making process introducing fact-based quality parameters during the selection of logistics providers and partners (in particular during competitive biddings).
Take full ownership and continuously raise the bar of the quality of all reporting regarding the logistics performance. Submit regular reports to senior management concerning quality performance linked to Logistics. Maintain close relationships with our internal Brand stakeholders and act as the main point of contact for any kind of inquiries and assistance regarding performance reporting and quality related issues.
Support the introduction of a culture of continuous performance improvement across the entire Logistics function. Act in a highly professional manner with integrity always striving to add value to the Haworth Lifestyle Brands.
Experience and Education:
Engineering degree.Minimum of 5 years professional experience in logistics.
International experience preferred.
Proven track record of achieving measurable results. Technical and Soft skills: Fluent in Italian and English (spoken and written).
Strong analytical skills.Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in complex multi-company and matrix organization environment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills (both in Italian and English).
Ability to create networks and strong relationships.
Goal-oriented and self-motivated attitude.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Available to travel (mainly in Italy). Work location: Milan.
