Mission:

He/She is responsible to ensure the seamless execution of procurement activities related to series components such as Infotainment systems, HMI, Displays, Enbedded SW, ADAS, Electrics and Electronics Components as HV, LV Harnesses, HVAC, Speakers, Antenna, Engine ECU within specific commodity and to prioritize/allocate the material group and activities within the buyer’s team.

He / She is responsible to coordinate buyers’ activities for all the scouting/sourcing/negotiation activities and related Procurement Strategy with suppliers/partners, supporting the Head of in order to ensure the achievement of the projects and company targets.

Assigned Activities:

He / She is responsible of the following activities:

  • Target Setting / Business Plan: Collaborate with the procurement Head of to establish clear and measurable procurement targets for the buyers. Forecast the yearly business plan overview and ensure monthly tracking and in alignment with the company's overall strategic goals and budgetary guidelines.
  • Cost Optimization: collaborate with Model Line and VA/VE team to seek cost optimization opportunities. Identify areas for cost reduction without compromising quality and escalate cost-saving initiatives to relevant stakeholders.
  • Supplier Identification and Selection: coordination the activities of the buyers in the scouting analysis and identification of potential suppliers. Analyze their process and capabilities to fulfill AL requirements, their innovation and sustainability level, quality standards, and pricing models to make informed recommendations to the procurement team.
  • Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies relevant to the automotive specific commodity. Scout innovation and sustainability ideas (e.g material, process, technology, etc) aligned to the company’s strategy. Use this knowledge to provide to Head of all the analysis aimed to define the procurement strategies and make data-driven decisions.
  • Supplier Performance Evaluation: implement a robust supplier performance review process, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery timeliness, product quality, cost competitiveness, and responsiveness. Provide regular reports on supplier performance to management and suggest improvements.
  • Supply chain and Risk management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks. Develop contingency plans and follow the escalation process to minimize and manage disruptions in the supply chain starting from the Tier-1 and, in case of necessity, cascading down to Tier-X.
  • SET Tracking/Supervising: together with Procurement PLs, monitor and track buyers’ activities within SET to ensure the achievement of projects milestone and company targets.
  • Build and develop strong, collaborative internal (e.g AL Departments such R&D, Finance, Quality, Model Line, Production, Sales, Strategy, HR) and external (e.g VW Group Dept.) relationship at all levels, in alignment with the internal and external customer’s needs.
  • Negotiation and Contracting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and buyers to negotiate contracts with selected suppliers. Utilize excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable supply terms and conditions while maintaining strong supplier relationships. Support and coordinate the buyers in the yearly negotiation (JPV) with the suppliers.
  • Process & Product Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement department, utilizing best practices and innovative strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and streamline procurement workflows.
  • He/She supports the Head of in the recruiting process and in the definition of development plan of the buyers/senior buyers in own perimeter of coordination.

Education:

  • University degree

Experiences:

  • More than 7 years’ experience in procurement
  • Experience in Infotainment, Displays, Enbedded SW
  • Experience in people management/coordination
  • Automotive/Electrics and Electronics companies: procurement, technical/quality roles, project management

Languages:

  • English – Fluent
  • German – as a plus

Knowledge:

  • Advanced Technical product knowledge

  • Economics (balance sheet, performance indicators)
