Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a Product Specialist to join our Robotics & Discrete Automation business. The Product Specialist will become part of an engineering organization including, beside other technical support engineers, bid and proposal specialists, mechanical, electrical and software engineers, process experts and simulation specialists and will report to Technical Support Manager.The selected candidate will be directly involved in technical support for offline programming and software development of specific automation projects. He/she will have a key role in the development of the Italian robotic market increasing the customer perceived added value of the ABB offer supplying high level technical consultancy services.
Skills and competences focused on robotized automation will be used in a very wide range of applications supporting both external (customers) and internal (other company functions).

This role is contributing to the Robotics Division, within the Robotics Area in Sesto San Giovanni.
You will be mainly accountable for:- Programming complex robot systems offline.
- Simulating designed tools and equipment and making reachability studies in ABB 3D RobotStudio software.
- Being responsible for software development on robotized automation projects.
- Providing technical support on specific robotics products.
- Providing support to customers for robot programming.
- Acting as the local (Italian) interface to international developers for problem reporting and product improvement issues, providing accurate and detailed feedback with all necessary support documentation.
- Being directly involved during projects' feasibility studies to validate specific technical choices and support development effort estimation during the bid and proposal phase.
- Establishing direct relationships with customers during the proposal phase to demonstrate specific functionalities or validate project concepts.
- Supporting the after-sales department on specific technical issues
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Automation or Computer Engineering
- Knowledge of Autocad
- Willingness to travel, 10% of time (Italy);
- You have attention to details and strong problem solving attitudes, communication skills;
- You are at ease communicating in Italian and English, both written and spoken
