Job Summary
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the overall logistics strategy of a company to maximize efficiency and productivity. This role involves planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and distribution of goods.
Key Responsibilities- Logistics & Supply Chain Management
- Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to optimize costs and delivery timelines.
- Oversee transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations regarding logistics and transportation.
- Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Implement best practices for warehouse operations to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Transportation Management
- Manage relationships with transport providers and negotiate contracts.
- Monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely shipments.
- Process Optimization & Cost Control
- Identify opportunities for reducing logistics costs while maintaining service quality.
- Implement automation and technology solutions to streamline operations.
- Conduct performance analysis and prepare reports on logistics performance metrics.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and manage logistics staff, including warehouse workers, and logistics coordinators.
- Foster collaboration between logistics, supply chain and production departments.
- Train and develop staff to improve operational efficiency.
- Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, customs regulations, and environmental laws.
- Develop contingency plans for logistics disruptions, such as supply chain delays.
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
