System Integration and Test Engineer - Railway field

Your tasks:

• As a System Integrator & Test Engineer you act in a dual role and accompany our projects in close cooperation with the development department.
• With your analytical skills, creativity, and competence you will contribute to the ideal of a perfectly functioning overall solution.
• Integration of individual software modules and devices into the overall system.
• Preparing your test system, in coordination with the software developers involved in the project developers, for comprehensive release tests.
• Development of test concepts/specifications, test automation, planning of test facilities and execution of extensive system tests of our software.
• Development of Testbenches including electrical wiring and basic mechanical design
• Error analysis and commissioning with the customer, as remote diagnosis and on site
• Customer training for maintenance and commissioning
• Test drives with and/or at the customer's site are a highlight. Business trips of this kind (mainly in Europe) vary depending on the project phase. A mission usually lasts 2-7 days.

Your profile:

• Ideally engineer in the field of electrical engineering or computer science, but also career changers from other technical fields with IT experience. What counts are your analytical skills, your comprehension and technical expertise.
• You can think on development and system level to integrate distributed embedded systems with IP communication.
• You have experience with Electronics, Electrical wiring and cables.
• You bring a high social competence to work customer and team oriented. Nevertheless, you can act proactively, independently, and autonomously.
• Ideally, you have already realized software tests on embedded systems and have experience around test automation
• Ideally, you have already proven your talent in planning and executing complex test tasks.
• Knowledge of Linux, networking (DHCP, DNS, VLAN, routing), scripting (Python, Shell), and Troubleshooting is important.
• Knowledge of IT security, cryptography, virtualization (Docker/Vagrant/VirtualBox) is an advantage.
• English spoken and written at C1 level are required (e.g. for direct customer contact and the creation of technical documents). Knowledge of German is an advantage
