YOUR TEAM
The Nanochemistry Research Unit (https://www.iit.it/research/lines/nanochemistry) is seeking highly motivated and talented candidates in the field of nanochemistry, targeting nanocrystalline materials. The candidates will be involved in the study of nanocrystals made of domains of different materials (of which at least one is a metal halide) connected by epitaxial interfaces, for application in light-harvesting devices.The candidates will interact on a regular basis with synthetic and computational scientists in charge of predicting the stability and properties of such combinations of materials and interfaces, and with other scientists/engineers for advanced characterization and to exploit the synthesized nanocrystals in various applications.
We are offering a two-year contract. The highly interdisciplinary research environment at IIT provides access to a state-of-the-art computational infrastructure and labs for materials synthesis, characterization and implementation in devices.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Develop new methods for integrating nanocrystals into light-harvesting devices.
- Cooperate/give support with other postdocs/Ph D students/undergrads.
- Report to the group on the progress of your research activities and mentoring students.

- The ideal candidate will have a Ph D in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or a related subject.
- Strong background in colloidal nanocrystals.
- Expertise in nanocrystals synthesis, characterization tools and device integration.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- The successful candidate should have good practice with teamwork, group learning processes and a problem-solving attitude.
- A strong publication record.
- The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data.
